B:首先進入第一個版塊：BigBigWorld,大大世界。在這個節(jié)目中我們來學(xué)習(xí)一個美國俚語。你知道什么是doggybag嗎?
A:Doggybag??這可真難倒了我，你說說看!
B:呵呵，不知道了吧!美國是一個很富裕的國家，可是美國人并不隨意浪費。例如，在餐館用餐時，如果點的食物沒吃完，他們會將剩下的飯菜打包回家。這時候用來打包的食物的紙袋子被稱為doggybag，大家都知道dog是狗，那么打包回家跟狗會有什么關(guān)系呢?以前，美國人也不好意思把在餐館里吃剩的東西帶回家，怕丟面子，所以，就經(jīng)常有人會對服務(wù)員說：“請把剩余的食物給我包起來，好嗎?我想帶回家給我的狗吃�！眃oggybag一詞便這樣出現(xiàn)了。在當今的美國，人們把在餐館中吃剩的東西帶回家已經(jīng)是習(xí)以為常了，沒有人會因為要把剩菜帶回家而感到不好意思了。

B:接著進入第二板塊“SayyouSayme”,說你說我。今天我們來聊聊有關(guān)顏色的話題怎么樣？

B:首先說說“red紅色”：無論在英語國家還是在中國，紅色往往與慶�；顒踊蛳矐c日子有關(guān)。英語里有red-letterdays.,在西方一般指圣誕節(jié)或其他節(jié)日，因為這些日子在日歷上是用紅色標明的，所以red-letter的轉(zhuǎn)義就是“可紀念的”“喜慶的”。普通的日子印的是黑色，但black-letterday卻不是“平常的日子”而是“倒霉的一天”。A:接著說說“White白色”：對多數(shù)中國人和西方人來說，白色所引起的聯(lián)想有一些是相近的：purity(潔白)，innocence（清白無辜）。但
英語中的whitelie這個短語是什么意思呢？謊言還能“清白”“無辜”“天真”或“單純”嗎？回答是：awhitelie指“善意的謊言”。應(yīng)當記住的`是：“白”字在英語里并不總是white.
B:再來看看“black黑色”:在英語和漢語中都有不少詞語表明black(黑)與“不好的”“壞的”“邪惡的”特征相聯(lián)系。有趣的是，在商業(yè)英語中intheblack有正面的意思，即“經(jīng)營一項企業(yè)盈利”。
A:blue藍色在英語中通常表示不愉快，除inabluemood或havingtheblues表示“情緒低沉”“憂郁”“沮喪”“煩悶”外，在ablueMonday(倒霉的星期一)中，blue也表示類似的意思——過完愉快、幸福的周末，星期一又要上班或上學(xué)了，所以情緒不佳、藍色還常用來表示社會地位高、有權(quán)勢或出身于貴族或王族。在美式英語中bluebook(藍皮書)是刊載知名人士，尤其是政府高級官員名字的書。
B:最后說說“green綠色”：西方文化中的綠色(green)象征意義跟青綠的草木顏色有很大的聯(lián)系

A.我國素稱禮儀之邦，其重視禮節(jié)程度不亞于歐美任何一國。但是由于中西風俗習(xí)慣有很大的差異，如果我們對此不了解，在與英美人進行交往時，就會引起對方的誤會，發(fā)生不必要的誤解。這里我僅把英美人在問候、告辭和稱呼上的禮節(jié)習(xí)慣介紹給大家，以便有助于大家的英語學(xué)習(xí)和同外國朋友的交往。
一、 Greetings 問候
我們中國人見面打招呼時習(xí)慣說：您吃過了嗎?(Have you eaten? / Have you had your meal?)或者說：您上哪去?(Where are you going? )。而英美人見面時如果是上午則說：Good morning. 如果是在下午則說：Good afternoon, 在傍晚就說:Good evening. 如果與熟人打招呼則說：How are you? 如果是與較熟的人或朋友打招呼則說：Hello, 或Hi. 如果用我們中國人見面打招呼時常說的Have you eaten?去問候英美人，就會引起對方的誤解，因為Have you eaten?在英語里不是打招呼用語，而是邀請對方去吃飯。如果見到英美人時說：Where are you going?他們會很不高興。因為Where are you going?對英美人來說則是即干涉別人的私事。
A.二、 Parting 告辭
到別人家串門或作客，告辭時，英美人習(xí)慣說：I should go now. 或 Id better be going now.意思都是我得走了。英美人在告辭時從不說：ll go back.(我回去了。)或ll go first.(我先走了。)因為在英語里, ll go first.的意思是：時間不早了，客人們該離開了。我先走給大家起了頭，其他客人也應(yīng)該馬上離去。
B.三、 Addressing People 稱呼
平時，我們常聽到學(xué)生稱呼老師為Teacher Wang(王老師)，Teacher Li(李老師)，即便對外籍教師也是如此稱呼。其實這是不符合英美人習(xí)慣的。在英語中，teacher不能用于稱呼。那么怎么來稱呼老師才符合英語習(xí)慣呢?一般來說，英美人稱呼中小學(xué)的男老師為Sir，或Mr，女教師為Miss，如 Mr wang Miss zhang Miss Green

G1: 關(guān)于打電話，我們中國人和西方人也是不一樣。 Do you know how to make a telephone call to our friends？中國人打電話時的用語與平時講話用語沒有多少差異�！拔梗�。麻煩您叫一聲王偉接電話�！薄拔沂菑堄�，請問您是誰？” 英語中打電話與平時用語差別很大。如：“Hello，this is John speaking.” “May I speak to Tom ,please？” “Is that Mary speaking？” “Who’s that?”
G2: 西方人一接到電話一般都先報自己的號碼或者工作單位的名稱。如“Hello，52164768，this is Jim.” 我們學(xué)生剛開始學(xué)英語會犯這樣的錯誤： “Hello，who are you please？”
