　　It is generally believed that education is of vital importance in individuals development and well-being of societies. What should education consist of to fulfill both these functions?

　　With the rapid development of modern society, education is becoming more and more crucial to both individuals and societies. The issue over what education should consist of has considerably aroused peoples wide concern. In this essay, I seek to explore this complicated topic from diverse perspectives and what influence could be brought.

　　Among the most important aspects education should consist of, one should be stressed is professional knowledge education. On one hand, under the fierce competitive circumstance, people who have professional skills and experience attract many big companies. Therefore, study about one special area gives people more opportunities to hurt an ideal job. On the other hand, this education is also significant to develop societies in a long run.

　　At the second place, what is also worth noticing is that physical education is necessary for students, especially for teenagers. If you want to achieve successfully in the modern societies, strong body is the first premise, which makes you always in sharp. So education should push people to take care themselves and this could bring great benefits to the healthy society.

　　Last but not least, we should not lose sight of psychological education. Psychological problems are serious nowadays and a sizable percentage of people suffer from them. A survey conducted by a famous research organization indicates that over 40 percent of students have various psychological problems, who really need help from school and society. Even worse, if such problems cannot be solved, they could hamper the progress of well-being society.

　　Should Class Attendance Be Required

　　Required class attendance is so common at colleges and universities that many teachers and even students themselves simply assume it is a good thing. In fact, required class attendance does more harm than good.

　　There are several reasons that teachers should not require attendance. First, rigid attendance policies do not benefit students' studies. For example, a student may have to give up a lecture which he finds important to his studies simply because of rigid attendance polices which is a contributing factor to his course performance. Second, the lectures of some teachers are not always constructive. A student should be allowed to decide for himself whether an in-class experience is worthwhile when his teacher merely repeats material from the textbook or wastes class time by telling irrelevant stories. Finally and most importantly, there is no proven correlation between attendance and performance in a course. A student may never miss a single attendance in a course, but it doesn't mean that he has acquired the knowledge of this course.

　　In Chinese history, Su Shi, together with his brother Su Zhe and father Su Xun, were all famous and were called Three Sus. But Su Shi’s contribution was the greatest. He not only created wonderful works, but also did many good things for common people when he was an officer. Today, there is still a Su Bank in Hangzhou Province.

　　Because of Su’s talent, Su was envied and was relegated to Huangzhou, a poor place. Even when Su was there, he didn’t lose his spirit for the life. What’s more, his poems created at that time was even better. Su’s time has past, but his spirit lives forever.

　　Su Shi, who appears as a star in Song Dynasty, lights up my heart and soul with his great spirit. Whenever I meet difficulties, I can hear him saying, “Be hopeful and powerful, believe you can face the reality!”

　　《百萬英鎊》是講一個貧窮、誠實的人，也就是這個故事的主人公收到了一對兄弟的信，信里裝著百萬英鎊。原來這對兄弟打了一個賭，賭如果一個貧窮、誠實的人收到天上掉下的一百萬英鎊，他會有怎樣的結(jié)果?哥哥認(rèn)為他會餓死，因為他無法證明這些錢是他自己的，而且會受到別人的懷疑，就連銀行都不會讓他存錢。弟弟卻認(rèn)為他會過得很好。于是他們兄弟倆將一百萬英鎊的支票借給了這個貧窮又誠實又聰明的人，并出國呆了一個月。沒想到在這段時間里，人們對這位突然暴富的罕見富翁，竟拼命地拉攏他，從免費吃飯，買衣服，到免費住宿，一個個像乞丐一樣討好他，并不斷提高他的'社會地位，一直到了除王室外最高的公爵之上!不光如此，他還得到了一位好妻子和三萬英鎊的銀行利息，最后還從兩兄弟那兒得到了一份很好的工作，過著非常非常幸福的生活。

　　看到這兒，我很羨慕這位如此“幸運(yùn)”的主人公，真希望能和他一樣幸運(yùn)，但我又轉(zhuǎn)念一想：人們之所以討好他，還不是因為當(dāng)時人們太看重金錢了嗎?拜金主義是可恥的，不勞而獲更不應(yīng)該!金錢不是萬能的，世界上還有許多比金錢更重要的東西——良心和品德……
