春節(jié)英語作文 篇1

This year is the year of the tiger, which is the year of my life. I wish you all a happy New Year and a happy New Year. They say there is a new atmosphere in the New Year, but I feel the same way. Walk into our campus and you will see a string of firecrackers hanging in the doorway of the living building. Not only has our school changed, but our community has also changed.

At night, when you come to the door of the community, don't think it's a square. It's our neighborhood. In the doorway, a thriving scene let a person shine at the moment, is more big lanterns look brand-new, against the background of the night especially dazzling, colorful sparkling fountains and people dance dance, jump, and can be noisy.

The neighborhood has changed and our family has changed. I put my mother's shell frame from hainan and put it on the bed so that I could smell the sea. A month ago my father brought me a basin of preserved plum. We planted it in a big flower bed. In this month, it brings us endless fragrance. Recently our family still has a lot of new things, such as camellia flowers sprouting up to smile in the face and also my mother in glasses, this should be the way she New Year, taken on a new look, appears more quiet learned.

On the first day of the New Year, when I was still sleeping, I heard the crackling of firecrackers, and I knew that it was the business that opened. I wish them a good business. When the New Year came, we were one year older and wiser, jumping from fifth grade to the sixth grade of the senior class. I wanted to study hard, go up to the next floor, and step up. Happy New Year to all of you.

春節(jié)英語作文 篇3

Chinese New Year or Spring Festival is the most important of the traditional Chinese holidays。 It is sometimes called the "Lunar New Year" by English speakers。 The festival traditionally begins on the first day of the first month (Chinese: 正月; pinyin: zhēng yuè) in the Chinese calendar and ends on the 15th; this day is called Lantern Festival。 Chinese New Year's Eve is known as chú xī。 It literally means "Year-pass Eve"。

Chinese New Year is the longest and most important festivity in the Lunar Calendar。 The origin of Chinese New Year is itself centuries old and gains significance because of several myths and traditions。 Ancient Chinese New Year is a reflection on how the people behaved and what they believed in the most。

Celebrated in areas with large populations of ethnic Chinese, Chinese New Year is considered a major holiday for the Chinese and has had influence on the new year celebrations of its geographic neighbors, as well as cultures with whom the Chinese have had extensive interaction。 These include Koreans (Seollal), Tibetans and Bhutanese (Losar), Mongolians (Tsagaan Sar), Vietnamese (T?t), and formerly the Japanese before 1873 (Oshogatsu)。 Outside of Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan, Chinese New Year is also celebrated in countries with significant Han Chinese populations, such as Singapore, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Thailand。 In countries such as Australia, Canada and the United States, although Chinese New Year is not an official holiday, many ethnic Chinese hold large celebrations and Australia Post, Canada Post, and the US Postal Service issues New Year's themed stamps。

Within China, regional customs and traditions concerning the celebration of the Chinese new year vary widely。 People will pour out their money to buy presents, decoration, material, food, and clothing。 It is also the tradition that every family thoroughly cleans the house to sweep away any ill-fortune in hopes to make way for good ining luck。 Windows and doors will be decorated with red colour paper-cuts and couplets with popular themes of “happiness”, “wealth”, and “l(fā)ongevity”。 On the Eve of Chinese New Year, supper is a feast with families。 Food will include such items as pigs, ducks, chicken and sweet delicacies。 The family will end the night with firecrackers。 Early the next morning, children will greet their parents by wishing them a healthy and happy new year, and receive money in red paper envelopes。 The Chinese New Year tradition is a great way to reconcile forgetting all grudges, and sincerely wish peace and happiness for everyone。

Although the Chinese calendar traditionally does not use continuously numbered years, outside China its years are often numbered from the reign of Huangdi。 But at least three different years numbered 1 are now used by various scholars, making the year 20xx "Chinese Year" 4707, 4706, or 4646。

春節(jié)英語作文 篇4

The Chinese New Year is now popularly known as the Spring Festival because it starts from the Begining of Spring . Its origin is too old to be traced. Several explanations are hanging around. All agree, however, that the word Nian, which in modern Chinese solely means year , was originally the name of a monster beast that started to prey on people the night before the beginning of a new year.

One legend goes that the beast Nian had a very big mouth that would swallow a great many people with one bite. People were very scared. One day, an old man came to their rescue, offering to subdue Nian. To Nian he said, I hear say that you are very capable, but can you swallow the other beasts of prey on earth instead of people who are by no means of your worthy opponents? So, it did swallow many of the beasts of prey on earth that also harassed people and their domestic animals from time to time.

After that, the old man disappeared riding the beast Nian. He turned out to be an immortal god. Now that Nian is gone and other beasts of prey are also scared into forests, people begin to enjoy their peaceful life. Before the old man left, he had told people to put up red paper decorations on their windows and doors at each year s end to scare away Nian in case it sneaked back again, because red is the color the beast feared the most.

From then on, the tradition of observing the conquest of Nian is carried on from generation to generation. The term Guo Nian , which may mean Survive the Nian becomes today Celebrate the Year as the word guo in Chinese having both the meaning of pass-over and observe . The custom of putting up red paper and firing fire-crackers to scare away Nian should it have a chance to run loose is still around.

However, people today have long forgotten why they are doing all this, except that they feel the color and the sound add to the excitement of the celebration.

The most interesting thing about the New Year is setting off firecrackers. At night, father and mother take out a large bag of firecrackers, what should set off firecrackers?

That makes me wonder, oh! By the way, I patted my head and said to myself, "aren't there some children's firecrackers in the house?" "Rightness! Let's put this."

I ran into the house, took a child's firecracker and took my father's cigarette lighter. I was a little bit on the fuse, and soon the fireworks went up in the sky and exploded in the sky, but it was fun! When it was dad's turn to set off firecrackers, I thought to myself: what kind of firecracker will father play? Suddenly, I was shocked. My father was shooting crackers! And then a crackling to the ground.

It was so noisy. I ran into the room, covering my ears. But really not to know, a surprise to jump! My brother is lying in bed with his legs crossed and watching TV.

After the crackling noise stopped, I took another firecracker, and I used a lighter, which turned green, then orange, then yellow, like a chameleon. How interesting the New Year is!
