Christmas arouses increasing attention year by year in China. Christmas cards become popular with students. People hold Christmas parties and exchange Christmas girts. A lot or TV and radio programs about Christmas are on. Meanwhile the Spring Festival is less appealing to youngsters. Thus some people wonder whether Christmas will replace the Spring Festival.
This worry is fairly unnecessary. Why ?One reason lies that Christmas only affects Christians, college students and joint-venture workers. Another reason is that Christmas is mostly celebrated in cities. Few people in countryside show extreme interest in this exotic festival. By contrast, the Spring Festival is the most influential traditional festival in every family.
I think,it is natural that with increasing exchanges with the West,a lot of Western holidays have been gradually introduced into China. For us Chinese we should never neglect or even discard our own traditional festivals. For centuries Chinese have observed this traditional holiday to welcome the beginning of a new year. And we will treasure the Spring Festival forever.
"In the sound of firecrackers, the spring breeze sends warm to tu su." The Chinese New Year is full of sound firecrackers, the legend of setting off firecrackers in order to repel nian, the great age of the firecrackers sound of the year of the year of the beast.
Fireworks burst into the air, and laughter was engraved on the hearts of people. It was a bit like the sparks of the day in the founding ceremony, and the lights on the ground were red. Set off firecrackers the most happy is the children, urge the adult to light the firecracker, that spark erupts come, the mouth is crooked. This scene, the hibernating small animals all want to probe out the head to take a look! Busy people will set off firecrackers during the Spring Festival, but many adults also have a childlike heart.
"Bang bang bang bang" to look at the fireworks, it seems to go into the dreamlike world, multicolored color, make the person's heart have infinite daydream.
This sound firecracker is a farewell to winter, a call to spring, it is to tell us that we are one year older, we should be more sensible. It is also a farewell to 20xx, and 20xx everyone has a New Year of hope and longing.
Although firecrackers have added New Year's colors to us, firecrackers seriously pollute the environment, so we should set off firecrackers and protect our common homeland while we are happy.
Far and away the most important holiday in China is Spring Festival, also known as the Chinese New Year。 To the Chinese people it is as important as Christmas to people in the West。 the dates for this annual celebration are determined by the lunar calendar rather than the GREgorian calendar, so the timing of the holiday varies from late January to early February。
To the ordinary Chinese, the festival actually begins on the eve of the lunar New Year’s Day and ends on the fifth day of the first month of the lunar calendar。 But the 15th of the first month, which normally is called the Lantern Festival, means the official end of the Spring Festival in many parts of the country。
It was a long holiday, so I had nothing to do with it. The weather is so good, the sun is warm, gently licking my face... I remember the most pleasing thing when I was young was bathing in the sun, eating a big apple, lying on the sofa, and turning a comic book. The sunshine in the bright red apple, my face is red! Maybe it's the light of the apple on the face! I think. Is it more difficult to meet the bigger the people? Now there is sunshine, apples, books, and all that, but why the heart is like old age. There are no palpitations in life, no surprise, no desire.
During the holiday, I heard that the next class in high school was in a party and was jealous. So the phone, one of the greetings. Do you feel surprised and unfamiliar with the phone? "Each farewell is a meeting for the sake of it." A friend of mine said that. At that time, I was in the third grade class. I always had deep pain in my heart. When the petals fell out of the window, I always felt that the tears seemed to go down with them. So the crazy writing of the students, stare in a daze of a familiar or strange face. They say I'm too sentimental. Maybe... Standing on the top floor of the teaching building, looking at the blue sky, and the white clouds, "the day after the day is so beautiful, bar..." I squinted and said to myself that I had never stopped moving in my heart.
But the original time can dilute all. The tape has been in love because too long out of tune, now even the friendship is out of tune. Nothing in the world is eternal. The tape is so, the friendship is so, the miss is so, so so... High school is happy, childhood is also happy, but the joy of the young is like a gorgeous butterfly, beautiful and untrue. Use the lyrics: "the apple is still the apple, the sun is still the sun, the classmate is the student, the sky or the sky." Some feelings like the footprints of the seaside, some deep, some shallow, some people walk far, some people walk near. When the tide of time comes, everything will pass away. Even if you do not want, you have the helplessness.
Now, the window is no one will lamps and candles of a myriad families, remembering the happy time, even in the corner of the mind. When I look back, the person is in the dim light!

Dear Kim:
I feel so happy to hear that you are interested in the Chinese spring festival, which is one mostimportant symbol of Chinese culture. With my great honor, I am here sharing my knowledgeabout it with you.
The spring festival, also called Chinese New Year, enjoys a long history of over 4,000 years. Unlike other festivals, the Spring festival is a period of time, rather than a single day. It startsfrom the first day of a new year and ends on January 15th, , of course in the Chinese lunarcalendar. But people usually start to celebrate the Spring Festival on the day before the NewYear's Day, which is called "New Year's Eve", when all members of a family get together, have abig meal together(called Nian Ye Fan in Chinese) and watch the Spring Festival gala, indulged inthe especially warm and sweet atmosphere of reunion.
There are a variety of activities during the Spring festival, among which at least three deserveyour special attention. First, when the new year's first bell rings out the old year and rings inthe new, adults and children get out of the houses and light crackers and fireworks, whichdecorates the sky into a colorful and magnificent stage.
Then, on the morning of the New Year's Day, people get up very early to stick couplets, onwhich all good wished are presented. Meanwhile, the red color of the couplets adds much to thejoy of the splendid festival.
In addition, we have to visit our relatives from door to door as of the first day of the SpringFestival until the Lantern Festival, which is supposed to be a conclusion of the whole SpringFestival.
Kim, the short letter here surely fails me to give you a complete account of our Spring Festival. I sincerely hope, if possible, that you can come here in China to have a real experience aboutit.
Best wishes!
Yours,
Li Hua
