Today, I went to my old house. I lived in it two years ago. When I am at school, I often think of my old house because it made me happy in the past.
My old house is very tidy but old. It has only one level and there are just two rooms in it. I slept with my mother and my father ever evening. My old house is between two high houses, so it looks very small but lovely. When I lived in my old house, I often played with my sister at the weekends. But now I can’t, so I feel a little sad. Two years ago, I could share my feelings with my parents too, but they were separate at last. So my old house is my favourite place. If I have some trouble, I think of it and my parents, I’ll always get lots of energy. I will then forget the trouble soon. Do you think my old house is a wonderful place? Yes, it’s my great “palace.”

小學(xué)的時候，我們便開始接觸英語了，可當(dāng)時只是作為一門學(xué)科并不列入 考試的范圍內(nèi)，所以當(dāng)時我也就沒有太在意，每到上英語課的時候，我不是在寫作業(yè)就是在和同學(xué)竊竊私語�？墒堑搅顺踔�，就打不可同了。
剛開始的時候老師只是講一些簡單的英語對話句子和認(rèn)識26個字母，這并沒有難倒我，我很快就明白了，可是隨著隨著時間的推移，我沒學(xué)習(xí)的`難度在逐步增加，我開始覺得有些吃力了，仿佛跟不上同學(xué)們的學(xué)習(xí)進(jìn)度，脫離了隊伍。李老師常對我們說英語學(xué)習(xí)很簡單，只要我們找到合適自己的方法，上可認(rèn)真聽課就足夠了。聽起來看似很簡單，非也非也，我按照老師說的那樣去做的，上課認(rèn)真聽課，認(rèn)真做筆記，做到課前預(yù)習(xí)課后復(fù)習(xí)，但結(jié)果沒有多大的進(jìn)展，依舊是在原地踏步，但我仍灰心，不斷更改自己的學(xué)習(xí)方法，尋找屬于自己的，適合自己的。可是一學(xué)期兩學(xué)期仍是如此，每次考試總是在110至125分之內(nèi)，我的意志力被摧殘，被逐漸腐蝕。有時我想放棄，可最后仍是在努力著，希望會出現(xiàn)奇跡。
如今我已是初三的學(xué)生了，正處于初中學(xué)習(xí)的最后沖刺階段，我要求自己的英語成績可以保持在130分左右，但事實上我連上130分都沒有幾次。我有時在想我們?yōu)槭裁匆獙W(xué)習(xí)英語呢？學(xué)習(xí)英語到底有何用處呢？我經(jīng)常為此事兒不解。在偶然的一天我和媽媽正在看新聞，據(jù)新聞報道英語8級以上剛畢業(yè)的大學(xué)生就業(yè)率很高，此刻我才第一次意識到英語的重要性。又恢復(fù)了以前的激情信心倍增。雖說成績只是一點點的進(jìn)步，但是總比停滯不前要好吧，要樂觀的面對我們的生活。

As I was passing the elephant I suddenly stopped,confused by the fact that these huge creatures were being held by only a small rope tied totheir front leg. No chain no cages. It was obvious that the elephants could, at any time, breakaway from their bonds but for some reason, they did not.
