Should the College Students Choose the Subject by Themselves
Most courses in universities and colleges today are compulsory, however, there are a few courses that are optional.Despite its small percentage, optional courses have given rise to the question whether college students should choose their courses at their own wills.
As far as I am concerned, I think college students should be encouraged to choose courses they are interested in.As the saying goes, "Interest is the best teacher".Students will certainly study more efficiently the subjects they willingly choose than the ones they are forced to choose.What’s more,because the subjects they choose are no longer a burden,they may become more active in the study concerned.
So I incline to say that colleges and universities should set up more optional courses for students to choose.

Traffic safety is everybody's business. We must obey the rules. For example, we must walk on walk side, when we cross zebra – crossing, stop and look right and left, then go across fast. Don’t play football on the road .we can tell our parents not to drink before they drive, not to run through red lights, not to talk and laugh while driving etc.
We can say cars are coming into our life, but only when everybody thinks traffic safety is everybody's business can we be safe driving on roads and walking on sidewalks.

As a matter of fact, the earth is short of fresh water. Furthermore, with the rapid growth of the worlds population, the rising demand for water by industry, and the serious pollution of our surroundings, the world is facing the danger of running out of fresh water. Actually, in some big cities, fresh water cannot meet the daily needs.
Therefore, to find new ways to save water is an urgent task. First, we should pass strict laws to control any waste of water. Second, scientists must work even harder to purify sea water and polluted water, and try to find substitutes to reduce the use of fresh water.

What i will talk about here may be radical to many and arouse criticism.I still think things definitely go wrong with the present educational policy.
Students,whether they be small children or college boys,or even post graduates,are oriented to the passing of a disgustingly variety of tests/examinations. How often (virtually every night) do we see first graders bending for hours over homework,the sole purpose of which is to have high scores in exams so that they might go to better middle and high schools. When they are in high schools,things get worse.They will be still more exhausted preparing for the college entrance examination.And the toiling circle does not stop here. They will worry about further exams.Good examination results determine one's future. Under such influence everything can be sacrificed,including the students' health,parents' money,and most importantly,the quality of education,by which i mean genuine knowledge and skills which can not and should not be tested with exam scores.
The outcome of such faults in the educational policy,although not intended,is that so many a student becomes sort of expert at doing exams and scores high.But they are not competent when they take up their careers. Such is the tragedy of the present education.Authorities may not admit the disturbing situation,but as an educator myself,i hold the issue self-evident. Things will have to be done to reverse the trend.

With the increase in the general standard of living， some ordinary Chinese families begin to afford a car. Yet opinions of the development of a private car vary from person to person.
Some claim that there are many advantages in possessing a car. It gives a much greater degree of comfort and mobility. The owner of a car is no longer forced to rely on public transport， and buses or taxies. With a car he can go where he likes and when he wants， so much so that he can enjoy his leisure to the full by making trips to the country or seaside on the weekends， instead of being confined to his immediate neighborhood.
However， others strongly object to developing private cars. They maintain that as more and more cars are produced and run in the street， a large volume of poisonous gas will be given off， polluting the atmosphere and causing actual harm to the health of people. In fact， private cars contribute to traffic congestion so greatly that advantages gained in comfort and freedom are often cancelled out by the frustration caused by traffic jams.
Whether private cars should be developed in China is a difficult question to answer. Yet the desire for the comfort and independence a private car can bring won't be eliminated.
