　　As is accurately revealed in the table above, Shen-zhou series spaceflight missions have been consecutively and successfully carried out over the past seven years (from 1999 to 20xx). The successful launch of Shen-zhou Ⅵ, in particular, has inspired every Chinese both at home and abroad.

　　The implied meaning of the table above can be briefly stated as follows. To begin with, the Opening-up and Reform has brought about fruitful achievements. It is well-known that the Opening-up and Reform has greatly improved the growth of our national economy, which has laid a solid foundation for the development of science and technology including aeronautics and astronautics. What’s more, Chinese science and technology have achieved the advanced world level. The construction and launch of space vehicle depend on the technical support from such disciplines as materials science, biology, communications, meteorology and astronomy. The successful launch of Shen-zhou Ⅵ has proved that the comprehensive capability of Chinese science and technology are of world class. 　　In my view, the prospect of China is bound to be more promising. On the one hand, our government will place more stress on the development of science and technology. 　　If I'm the guide of my foreign friend's visit to our campus, I will choose the Cherry Avenue as our first destination.

　　As the name implies, the Cherry Avenue is lined with hundreds of neatly-placed cherry blossom trees. It is about 200 meters long and a major scenic spot in our campus. In spring when the cherry trees bloom, the flowers are so dense that looking from a distance, it seems as if the road were surrounded by pink-hued clouds. Especially when there is a breeze, petals of cherry blossoms flutter and fall gently like a drizzle. Such breath-taking scene will put visitors into a kind of trance.

　　What's more special is the buildings along the avenue. Built in early 1900s, they are now called "cherry blossom castle". They've witnessed the history of our school and even our country. You can learn a lot about our school there.

　　In a word, a tour to the Cherry Avenue is both an amazing sight-seeing and a great opportunity to know about the culture of our school.

　　As a human being, one can hardly do without a friend. As the old saying goes, no man is an island. In other words, no one can survive without the help and friendship of others. And every sign points to the fact that life will become safer, happier and more interesting if one has friends to share his experiences with. In fact, life's main function, the reproduction and rearing of children, depends on one's ability to form long lasting and stable friendships with his/her closest friend -- wife or husband.

　　How could a person know he has gained true friendship? Some people be lieve true friendship lies in similar interests while others think that opposites at tractive--the idea that two people with opposite characteristics can easily become friends. Whatever the comment, true friendship must be firmly based on trust and understanding. If a friendship can stand the test of a difficult experience and if one feels confident that, no matter what, his friend has his interest at heart, then he can be sure he has found true friendship.

　　With different outlooks, individuals may have different principles in making friends. As far as I am concerned, I would be cautious to choose one as a friend and still cautiously make as many as I can. Once I have made a friend, I will trust him/her completely, talk over things with him/her regularly, keep his/her in terests at heart all the time, and give my friend a hand whenever needed.

　　I am a student from Tsinghua University and I am writing to you about my experience of buying a dictionary and my complaint about the service of a bookstore.

　　It was about a month ago. I went to a bookstore nearby the university to buy an English dictionary. It was only after I paid for the dictionary and returned to school that I found some pages were missing. But when I went back to the bookstore to tell them about the matter, they said that I should have checked the dictionary before I left the store. According to them, it was my fault and they hold no responsibility for the whole matter.

　　What I want to say is that sincerity and enthusiasm are vital to the survival of service industries in such a market economy featured by fierce competition. It was quite easy for them to change the dictionary for me but they refused to do so. They will lose all customers if they persist in doing so. I hope that this letter can draw the attention of the whole society and that the problem can be solved as soon as possible.
