　　Once I asked my father what the secret of success was。 He didn't say a word， but wrote a few words on a piece of paper and handed it to me。 I looked at the paper。 on it was written： A=X+Y+Z。

　　"What does it mean？" I asked。

　　"A means success， ” explained my father。 "X means hard， Y means good ways， and Z means you must stop talking and start to work。"

　　That's right。 From then on， I tried my best to be better。

　　我自信滿滿的走進(jìn)大廳。媽呀！嚇?biāo)牢伊耍∵@里居然聚集著這么多人。有五年級(jí)學(xué)生、老師、各年級(jí)的英語老師。嗯？還有兩個(gè)老外！看來，我今天得好好表現(xiàn)了，為自己、為班級(jí)而爭光。

　　比賽開始了，我是28號(hào)，也就是最后一名，我感受到我的心就像一個(gè)調(diào)皮的小精靈一樣，跳得七上八下的——好緊張。該我了，我走上臺(tái)，感到腿有點(diǎn)發(fā)軟，好像馬上就要癱在地上了一樣；手有一點(diǎn)發(fā)顫，好像馬上就要把話筒掉在地上一樣。當(dāng)我看見兩位老外在默默地為我鼓掌時(shí)，我便又鼓起勇氣，繼續(xù)往下背。我的腿不再發(fā)軟了，我的'手也不再發(fā)顫了，我的精神又飽滿起來。
