隨著四級(jí)考試的臨近，向來深為廣大學(xué)員所頭疼的作文問題再次浮出水面。在四級(jí)考試中，如果學(xué)生作文得零分，那么即使前面得了滿分（即85分），其總成績?nèi)詫⒁暈椴患案�。因此寫好一篇文章�?duì)參加四級(jí)考試的學(xué)生來說可謂至關(guān)重要，不容輕視。
縱觀歷年來的考題，我們不難發(fā)現(xiàn)議論文占據(jù)著七成以上的比例，因此首先我們要掌握議論文的寫作要領(lǐng)。按照提綱進(jìn)行構(gòu)思，務(wù)必做到寫好每段的主題句和擴(kuò)展句。主題句是表達(dá)段落主題的句子，它闡明一個(gè)段落的中心思想，是段落的核心，段落中的其他各句都與它緊密相連并圍繞它展開。擴(kuò)展句就是解釋或者說明段落中心思想的句子。寫擴(kuò)展句時(shí)要注意條理性，比如引出三條不同的理由可以分別用：Firstofall,furthermore,thelastbutnottheleast。
明確段落的寫作思路之后，讓我們具體來看句子的寫作。考試實(shí)踐表明，多數(shù)考生在寫作上的主要欠缺不是系統(tǒng)的寫作理論和方法，而是最基本的單句寫作能力。有些同學(xué)因?yàn)閷?duì)自身的實(shí)力缺乏自信所以考場上采取抄襲閱讀文章里的句子這種方法來湊字?jǐn)?shù)。這種做法實(shí)不足取，因?yàn)橐环矫嫒菀妆桓木砝蠋煱l(fā)現(xiàn)而認(rèn)為該考生有偷懶的嫌疑，另一方面考生從閱讀文章里抄來的優(yōu)美句子和考生自己寫的錯(cuò)誤百出的句子拼湊在一起令文章整體有不和諧之感，從而令改卷老師懷疑該考生有作弊的嫌疑。通過句子寫作這一關(guān)，可參考如下步驟：
1.確保句子的正確性，即準(zhǔn)確表達(dá)思想而且沒有語法錯(cuò)誤。以＂Therebe＂句型為例，錯(cuò)誤的句子：Therearemanypeopleliketogotothemovies.正確表達(dá)：Therearemanypeoplewholiketogotothemovies.考生最容易犯的錯(cuò)誤是在therebe之后又用了一個(gè)動(dòng)詞作謂語，使句子結(jié)構(gòu)出現(xiàn)嚴(yán)重錯(cuò)誤。除了要小心避免語法錯(cuò)誤外，我們也不能忽視作文中經(jīng)常出現(xiàn)的嚴(yán)重漢化的英語，即中式英語，比如："Manisiron,andfoodissteel.",＂Womenarehalfsidesky.＂。如何克服漢化思維關(guān)鍵在于動(dòng)筆前先思考一下類似的英文句式，并且注意諺語的翻譯不能隨心所欲，盡量找到規(guī)范的'翻譯方式。
2.注意句式的多樣性，語言生動(dòng)且富于變換才能最終打動(dòng)評(píng)卷老師從而獲得高分。不能從頭到尾都是Iam…,heis…,Ilike…,這樣的簡單句。
1）適當(dāng)運(yùn)用同位語，Environmentalpollution,aphenomenonwhichlastedanumberofyears,hasgrownmoreandmoreserious.推薦用于開頭對(duì)核心名詞做出解釋。
2）倒裝，Onlyinthiswaycanwesolvetheproblem.建議最好使用在文章結(jié)尾處更顯得擲地有聲。
3）無靈主語，即沒有生命的東西充當(dāng)主語。當(dāng)我們要講述一個(gè)經(jīng)驗(yàn)性的事實(shí)或者常理時(shí)，不要過多使用“Ithinkthat”議論文中過多使用“I”容易影響文章的客觀性。使用無靈主語就可以解決這個(gè)問題Pastexperiencehastaughtusthatweshouldnotdependonothersforeverything.(Pastexperience就是無靈主語)
4）排比，可以增強(qiáng)語言表達(dá)的力度和整個(gè)文章的氣勢。例如在95年1月的考題“Canmoneybuyhappiness”中運(yùn)用排比就可以收到比較理想的效果。Manypeopledieformoney,lieformoney,fightformoney,andevenselltheirsoulstotheDevilformoney.
以上是講述寫好句子的方法，但因?yàn)榭紙錾蠒r(shí)間比較緊迫，所以建議考生務(wù)必在考前背誦一些常用的理由句以防在考場上臨時(shí)思路受阻而束手無策。如Itcanenrichourknowledgeandwidenourhorizon.或者Itcanincreasethegovernmentrevenueandrelievethepressureofunemployment.等等。
僅僅學(xué)會(huì)寫議論文是不夠的，近兩年四級(jí)考試加大了應(yīng)用文和記敘文的考查力度，這就要求考生在熟悉議論文的基礎(chǔ)之上加強(qiáng)應(yīng)用文和記敘文的訓(xùn)練。應(yīng)用文主要考寫信，考生必須明確寫信的基本格式以及寫信的流程：
