　　Today is September 10th. Teachers’ Day. A teacher was invited to our school to give us a talk. He had taught for fifty years, and had won the gold medals by the Department of Education. He worked hard all his life, and gave all his love to the students. We were deeply moved by his talk. Today many students he had taught before come back to him, and some others from all over the country visit wrote him letters to express their love and thanks.

　　In many churches Easter is preceded by a season of prayer, abstinence, and fasting called Lent. This is observed in memory of the 40 days‘ fast of Christ in the desert. In Eastern Orthodox churches Lent is 50 days. In Western Christendom Lent is observed for six weeks and four days.

　　我對學英語一直興趣不大，爸爸便和媽媽商量，想讓我去英語興趣班學習。

　　有一天，爸爸收到一份廣告，上面說人才中心要舉辦艾斯通英語培訓班，由老外任教。3月13日，老外在人才中心上公開課，那天上午，爸爸征求了我的意見后，帶著我去聽公開課。

　　上課了，進來了兩個女老師。爸爸告訴我，那個金發(fā)碧眼個子很高的便是老外，旁邊那個是中國老師，她是老外的助教，在課堂教學中幫助老外和我們溝通。老外不會說中文，她首先用英語作了自我介紹，接著教我們每個人都用英語說“mynameis……”。那天老外上課的主要內(nèi)容是人的五官和身體的主要部位，她將這些單詞用圖形掛在黑板上，并要求我們每個人走到講臺上和她一起邊做動作邊讀。開始，我有些讀音發(fā)不準，但老外一點都不煩，她耐心地教我很多遍，直到我讀準確為止。當同學們讀會這些單詞后，老外把我們?nèi)冀械街v臺上，圍成一個圈，由她指著自己身體的部位讀，如果對了，我們也用手指著自己身體同樣的部位跟著讀；如果錯了，看我們誰反應快，糾正老外的`“錯誤”。這個游戲很好玩，同學們都踴躍參與，課堂氣氛很濃。游戲結束后，老外還興致勃勃地教我們學唱英文歌……

　　老外教英語，真是有趣，她的公開課讓我對英語好象有了點興趣。老外的名字叫瑪麗婭，一個澳大利亞人，跟她學英語我很快樂。
