　　Nowadays, many primary schools give English courses from the first grade. It is commonly believed that the earlier children begin to study a foreign language, the better they can master it, so the English class in primary schools is necessary. What's more, studies show that schoolchildren are more likely to cultivate an interest and love in English learning rather than to study it as a boring task.

　　But others take a negative attitude. They don't think language study in early age could foster the top language master. On the contrary, if children begin to study English too early, their study of Chinese would be interfered, and the result is that both their mother tongue and English would be poor. It is true that many children in the first grade always confuse English letters with the Pinyin.

　　Consequently, I have to agree that English class in primary school is good for children in language learning, but we should not ignore its weak points. So English class in primary schools is good and the class beginning from the fourth grade would be better.

　　為什么不把我送到美國

　　近期兒子對(duì)學(xué)英語特感興趣，一日問我：“媽媽，如果我小時(shí)候就說英語，現(xiàn)在是不是英語特棒？”

　　“那當(dāng)然了�！�

　　“那我小時(shí)候您為什么不把我送到美國，您不是想讓我全面發(fā)展嗎？”

　　這問題問的`我一時(shí)語塞。孩子整天往地圖前一站，什么亞洲、歐洲、非洲、美洲、大洋洲盡收眼底，在他看來到美國就象去串門一樣簡(jiǎn)單。

　　效率高了就是好

　　每天晚上讀英語已成了兒子的習(xí)慣，就是有時(shí)兒子安排讀英語的時(shí)間太晚，已經(jīng)疲倦了，所以效率不太高。建議兒子把英語學(xué)習(xí)時(shí)間提前，這樣時(shí)間短而效率高。那天晚上，兒子嘗到了甜頭，讀完英語后，不僅有時(shí)間進(jìn)行自己喜歡的剪紙，還有充足的時(shí)間聽我講睡前故事。臨睡前，兒子興奮地說：“高效率學(xué)習(xí)就是好！”

　　讀英語為了什么

　　兒子的英語老師為了激勵(lì)孩子們學(xué)英語，在家每讀一課就在書上印一枚小印章，兒子讀英語的興趣空前高漲。今日聽兒子說英語老師換了，而且新老師不再扣印章。我暗想，這樣對(duì)孩子的學(xué)習(xí)會(huì)不會(huì)有打擊？晚上英語學(xué)習(xí)時(shí)間到了，我故意問兒子:“不扣印章了，還讀不讀英語？”兒子拿起英語書斬釘截鐵的說：“讀，難道學(xué)英語就是為了小印章？”說的好，看來兒子并沒有本末倒置，為兒子喝彩！

　　看著兒子一天天的喜歡上了英語，我心里也樂滋滋的，這叫我怎能不高興呢！

　　剛上英語課的時(shí)候，我們都很想自己考了多少分，老師問我們是從高到低，還是從低到高的念，我沒有吭聲，因?yàn)槲疫€在思考，到底是選哪一個(gè)，之后我的'同學(xué)說從高到低，有的同學(xué)說是從低到高，之后我跟從低到高的人一起，之后田老師也說從低到高，從低到高的原因是可以知道到自己可以到哪一個(gè)行列里，老師開始念了，我很緊張我考不好，老師從三十幾個(gè)一直念到七十，還沒有念到我，我就可以知道我分?jǐn)?shù)就在七十分以上，很快就念到七十五分饒宇鵬，我很失望，原來我就考了七十五分呀，我很失望。

　　下次我要考到九十分以上，不能再考這么低了。

　　On the contrary, other people claim that a high diploma doesn’t automatically translate into knowledge. A diploma, in their eyes, is only the acknowledgment of one’s educational experience rather than a guarantee of one’s ability. Therefore, we can never measure the depth of one’s knowledge by the grade of one’s diploma. Besides, many knowledgeable people don’t have a high diploma. Take Bill Gates for example. His dropping out of college cannot deny the fact that he is one of the world’s most learned men。

　　So I must say no one should ever equate a diploma with knowledge, because a diploma is nothing but a proof of a short-term study while genuine knowledge needs one’s lifelong devotion。
