How to improve psychological health?
As is known to all, psychological health is as important as, if not more important than, physical health for a student during his/her growth. However, it’s quite worrying that nowadays some students are not quite psychologically healthy.
Undoubtedly, schools and universities should take great account in the responsibilities of students’ psychological health. Relevant courses and activities should be introduced to students so that they would be more aware of the significance of psychological health and find appropriate ways to maintain and improve it. For example, there should be a psychological counseling hotline or office for students to turn to when they need some psychological aid.
Of course no psychological health can be obtained without the efforts from the students themselves. From my perspective, what they can do is trying to stay positive, optimistic and follow the right guidelines from their schools. To be more specific, they can participate in some activities such as voluntary work to cultivate an opening and caring mind. Meanwhile, harmful impacts from the cyber space should definitely be avoided.

The period of 1986—1990 saw great changes in the diet of the Chinese. Grain, which used to be the main food of most people in China, is now playing a less important role. On the other hand, the meat and fish has increased rapidly. The changes in diet can be accounted for by a number of factors. First, people are much wealthier than before. With higher income, they can afford to buy good foods. Another factor is that people have realized the importance of a balanced diet to their health. Lack of certain amount of meat or milk, for example, will result in poor health. Finally, owing to the eeonomic reform, meat, chicken, fish and milk, which were scarce in the past, are produced in large quantities. For all these reasons, what was formerly called "the basket of vegetables" has. To sum up, insignificant as those changes may seem, they are the signs of the improved economic condition in China. We believe that as long as the effort continuous in reform and opening to the outside world, there will be greater changes in people's diet in the future.

Scattered through the seas of the world are billions of tons of small plants and animals called plankton。 Most of these plants and animals are too small for the human eye to see。 They drift about lazily with the currents, providing a basic food for many larger animals。Plankton has been described as the equivalent of the grasses that grow on the dry land continents, and the comparison is an appropriate one。 In potential food value, however, plankton far outweighs that of the land grasses。 One scientist has estimated that while grasses of the world produce about 49 billion tons of valuable carbohydrates each year, the sea's plankton generates more than twice as much。Despite its enormous food potential, little effect was made until recently to farm plankton as we farm grasses on land。
Now marine scientists have at last begun to study this possibility, especially as the sea's resources loom even more important as a means of feeding an expanding world population。No one yet has seriously suggested that " plankton-burgers" may soon become popular around the world。 As a possible farmed supplementary food source, however, plankton is gaining considerable interest among marine scientists。One type of plankton that seems to have great harvest possibilities is a tiny shrimp-like creature called krill。 Growing to two or three inches long, krill provides the major food for the great blue whale, the largest animal to ever inhabit the Earth。
Realizing that this whale may grow to 100 feet and weigh 150 tons at maturity, it is not surprising that each one devours more than one ton of krill daily。

學(xué)英語(yǔ)作文 篇6
Of all the knowledge we have, some comes from the books we read, some comes from personal experience in our lives。 Different people attach different importance to different sources。 The young and the educated, for example, may emphasize the former, the old may, however stress the latter。 In my opinion, both book knowledge and personal experience are of equal importance。
Knowledge gained from experience may be firsthand, direct, and unforgettable。 Books in the library may be outdated, giving you useless information。 Everything is changing and so is knowledge。 If you go out to make on the-spot investigations instead of depending on books, it is likely that you may be pleasantly surprised。 Moreover, knowledge you get from your own experience will be everlasting。 Therefore, it is important that students get involved in practical activities to accumulate different kinds of experience。
Experience, however, is limited in terms of time and space。 It is impossible for anyone to experience everything to get the knowledge he needs。 In addition, society is developing so fast that new problems come up with surprising speed。 Over depending on experience could, therefore, make a person narrow minded and prejudiced。
Books are a summary of the wisdom of our ancestors。 The best way to gain know ledge is, of course, to read books, and in the meantime, participate in various kinds of practicaL activities。 A combination of the two will sure[y make us full and well informed。
