　　As college English education is greatly emphasized with the rapid development of global commuiiicaticm，tbe defects that exist in the current educational system are open to more criticism- It is widely acknowledged that a thorough reform of college English education should be under way.

　　People ask for English education reform mainly because of the Inadequacy of college English education under the current system. On the one hand, many coilege English teachers underestimate the role interest plays in English learning and keep preaching in class. On the other h^nd, under the current system, most Chinese students tend to separate vocabulary memorizing, grammar, Hsteniiig, speaking, reading, and writing ftom each other and therefore their English is also “broken” in this way. This has also greatly contributed to the “dumb English” of many Chinese students.

　　In my view, to reform English education, colleges and universities should encourage students to speak English in class and hold more activities to promote students' oral English. Teachers should focus on attracting students with vivid teaching and arouse students* enthusiasm in learning English. 　　要說我敬佩的一個人，那就是我的媽媽，她長得不高也不矮，瘦瘦的，好象一陣風就會把媽媽吹倒（開個玩笑）。接下來我就給你講講媽媽學英語的事。

　　那時我才上三年級，學校里開了英語課，每次老師說要我們回家讀課文給家長聽，可是好多地方媽媽不懂，我讀錯了她也不知道，而且我不會讀的單詞和課文也沒有人幫我輔導，為這媽媽和我都很苦惱。幾天以后媽媽做了個想象不到的決定：媽媽要學—英—語。我和爸爸都不敢相信自己的耳朵。

　　媽媽說到果然做到，她先去買了許多英語教材和磁帶，然后又去報了英語班�？墒谴蠖鄶�(shù)英語班都是教小孩子的，好不容易才找到一個教成人英語的，媽媽很高興。

　　媽媽一開始學英語很困難，爸爸勸她說：“你現(xiàn)在都三十多了，記憶又不好，沒有年輕時的腦子好用了，反正也學不好，不如別學了�！蔽乙矂駤寢尣灰敲葱量啵蓩寢尵褪遣宦�，她說：“我不能半途而廢，有始無終，我一定要堅持，要給璐璐做個好榜樣，不是嗎？”然后媽媽有接著背單詞、讀課文。因為媽媽基礎不扎實，所以要從三年級的教材開始學。晚上我們叫媽媽睡覺了，她說：“你們先睡我過一會就睡”。我們就沒管她。12點多了我起來喝水，看見媽媽還在看書就勸她早就休息，她點點頭說：“再學一會”。

　　到了第二天，我們看見媽媽的眼睛紅紅的腫腫的，也不知道昨天晚上幾點才睡，爸爸生氣的說：“你愛惜點自己的身體好不好？多大的人了，眼睛還要不要？”我也對媽媽說：“你這樣是會影響上班的.。”媽媽只是笑笑，照樣我行我素，爸爸一生氣就把媽媽報的那個英語班給退了。媽媽知道后很傷心，不理爸爸了好幾天。我們以為媽媽傷心過后就不學了，但我們錯了，媽媽照樣堅持著，自己邊學邊找老師，就這樣媽媽堅持了兩年多，終于學會了英語，現(xiàn)在我的英語也有人幫我輔導了，我們能在家里進行簡單的英語對話，我的英語成績也慢慢的上升，我真為我的媽媽驕傲。

　　要是我們在學習上、做事上也能向媽媽這樣堅持不懈，我相信，再難的事也能完成。
