Spring Festival is the most important and exciting festival in China. I had a very nice winter holiday this year.
On New Year’s Eve, when I was standing by the window, watching the skyrockets, I made a wish. I hoped that I would do everything well in the new year.
I went to Wolf Hill in Nantong with my family on the first day of the new year. Wolf Hill is not very high, but it is very beautiful. It is covered with all kinds of green trees. We took a cable car to go up to the hill. And as we were climbing up, we heard a beautiful piece of music coming from the temple. After we came into the temple, we saw a figure of Buddha. There were quite a lot of people there. We each made a wish, and then burned joss sticks. We all hoped our dreams will come true . What a wonderful day I spent!
Pleasant time always goes fast . This winter holiday has gone . I will go back to school and study again, but I think I will never forget the happy winter holiday forever.

Nowadays ,with the phenomenon of the college students do part-time jobs more and more general.People are becoming increasingly aware of the significance of part-time job.In my point of view, the college students should do some part-time jobs. There are numerous reasons to support my point of view, and i would explore only a few of the most importance ones here.
One of the primary causes is that many students come form villages, they can earn money to ease the parents’ burden.Another reason is part-time job make their college life colorful and interesting. It can provide students different social experience. In other words, it is helpful for students to adapt the society and making preparation for it in advance.
Taking into account of these two factors,we may draw the conclusion that college students should do part-time job. Therefore,i advise that college students can do part-time jobs in spare time, but, the precondition is the study would not be affected.
Everyone suffers from an occasional(偶爾的`) bad mood, but I am in a bad mood more often than other people. As a result, I have developed a list of helpful hints(示意,暗示) for dealing with depression(意氣消沉,沮喪). One thing I have learned to do is keep a mood diary. About four times a day, I jot(草草記下) down a one-word description of my mood at that moment---- sad, tired, frustrated, happy, and so on. Then I ask myself questions like “
what event preceded(優(yōu)于?) this mood? Have I just eaten a lot of junk(廢棄的舊物) food or drunk a lot of coffee? Have I felt this way before?” after keeping this diary for a while, I have begun to see patterns to my moods. I‘ve found for example that consuming(消費(fèi)的) a lot of salty foods like chips makes me feel tense. Another mood-controlling hint(線(xiàn)索) that I‘ve taken is to exercise every day.
Exercise seems to prevent depression, and it also helps me sleep better. Any type of exercise works, including jogging,( 慢跑運(yùn)動(dòng)衣), dancing, and even walking around the block. I can also overcome depression by giving myself a small treat those times when my spirits are under the weather(under the weather==不舒服),for instance, I will go to a movie, listen to a record, or try on a new shirt. If I still feel miserable(痛苦的),I try to keep my chin up, for no bad mood lasts forever.

How to Succeed in a Job Interview?
Nowadays, in an ever tighter job market, great importance has been attached to an interview by both the employer and the applicant. The interview, so to speak, has become indispensable for getting a satisfactory job. On the one hand, the interviewer can take advantage of the occasion to learn about the candidates, such as their work experiences, education and their personalities, so as to pick out the right person for the company. On the other hand, the interviewee can make use of the opportunity to get to know the job he is going to take up, the salary, the working conditions and many other things about the job he is interested in.
Therefore, the job interview is very important to a job-hunter. But how can one succeed in it? Firstly of all, the interviewee must pay attention to his or her appearance. The first impression is always where we start. Get dressed properly and neatly. Secondly, good manners are equally important. Don’t be too proud, and neither too timid. Just be courteous. Thirdly, the interviewee must demonstrate his aptitude and skills for the job and his knowledge about eh job-related areas. Be confident. Last but not the least, the interviewee ought to be honest about his or her personal as well as academic background, for honesty is the best policy.
To sum up, the job interview is indeed important, but there is no need to be nervous. As long as the interviewee has the ability for the job, with careful preparation and a fairly confident and honest performance, his or her success can be ensured.

Nowadays, digital media has permeated almost every aspect of our daily life. It is changing the way that individuals, especially young people, learn, play, socialize, and participate in the society.
As a result, the function of digital media has turned into a major topic for the public. Some people pay tribute to its positive role as very convenient news sources, being available almost anywhere and anytime. While some people condemn the negative influence it has brought on privacy, morality, and independent thinking, which some people used to have and enjoy. And still others have been fighting between the merits and demerits of digital media for a final conclusion.
In my view, digital media is good for us students as it introduces a new way of learning which encourages more interaction and participation rather than rote learning. Besides, digital media makes it easier to produce and share things.

Travel-mate Wanted
I’m a 19-year-old female sophomore named Fu Ping. I hereby earnestly invite a foreign young lady—college student preferred—to make a three ? week touring trip with me.
My plan is to set off next weekend, when the summer vacation officially begins. The first stop is Kunming, the world-renowned city for its beauty and mild temperature. We’ll get there by train and stay there for 2 days, and then we’ll head for Jinggangshan, a former revolutionary base as well as a natural beauty spot. After a 3-day visit there , we will take a long-distance coach to a nearby port city by the Changjiang River and board a downstream ship to Shanghai, so that we can enjoy the great scenery alongside the third longest river in the world. As everybody knows, Shanghai is the busiest and fastest developing city in China. I’d like to have a look at its prosperity, so the stay there will be about half a week. And a famous Chinese saying goes, ”Just as there is Paradise in heaven, there are Suzhou and Hangzhou on Earth ”, so a 4-day visit to these two cities near Shanghai is must. All together, our trip will last about three weeks.
I only expect that my travel-mate could split the expenses with me and talk with me in beautiful English, and I would be an excellent guide for her since I major in tourist guiding.
Those interested please contact me either through email (fuping@126.com) or phone call (52222221) .
i was fifteen months old, a happy carefree kid . . . until the day i fell. it was a bad fall. i landed on a glass rabbit which cut my eye badly enough to blind it. trying to save the eye, the doctors stitched the eyeball together where it was cut, leaving a big ugly scar in the middle of my eye. the attempt failed, but my mama, in all of her wisdom, found a doctor who knew that if the eye were removed entirely, my face would grow up badly distorted, so my scarred, sightless, cloudy and gray eye lived on with me. and as i grew, this sightless eye in so many ways controlled me.
i walked with my face looking at the floor so people would not see the ugly me. sometimes people, even strangers, asked me embarrassing questions or made hurtful remarks. when the kids played games, i was always the "monster." i grew up imagining that everyone looked at me with disdain, as if my appearance were my fault. i always felt like i was a freak.yet mama would say to me, at every turn, "hold your head up high and face the world." it became a litany that i relied on. she had started when i was young. she would hold me in her arms and stroke my hair and say, "if you hold your head up high, it will be okay, and people will see your beautiful soul." she continued this message whenever i wanted to hide.
those words have meant different things to me over the years. as a little child, i thought mama meant, "be careful or you will fall down or bump into something because you are not looking." as an adolescent, even though i tended to look down to hide my shame, i found that sometimes when i held my head up high and let people know me, they liked me. my mamas words helped me begin to realize that by letting people look at my face, i let them recognize the intelligence and beauty behind both eyes even if they couldnt see it on the surface.in high school i was successful both academically and socially. i was even elected class president, but on the inside i still felt like a freak. all i really wanted was to look like everyone else. when things got really bad, i would cry to my mama and she would look at me with loving eyes and say, "hold your head up high and face the world. let them see the beauty that is inside."
when i met the man who became my partner for life, we looked each other straight in the eye, and he told me i was beautiful inside and out. he meant it. my mamas love and encouragement were the spark that gave me the confidence to overcome my own doubt. i had faced adversity, encountered my problems head on, and learned not only to appreciate myself but to have deep compassion for others.
"hold your head up high," has been heard many times in my home. each of my children has felt its invitation. the gift my mama gave me lives on in another generation.
