隨著四級考試的臨近,向來深為廣大學員所頭疼的作文問題再次浮出水面。在四級考試中,如果學生作文得零分,那么即使前面得了滿分(即85分),其總成績仍將視為不及格。因此寫好一篇文章對參加四級考試的學生來說可謂至關重要,不容輕視。
縱觀歷年來的考題,我們不難發(fā)現(xiàn)議論文占據(jù)著七成以上的比例,因此首先我們要掌握議論文的寫作要領。按照提綱進行構思,務必做到寫好每段的主題句和擴展句。主題句是表達段落主題的句子,它闡明一個段落的中心思想,是段落的核心,段落中的其他各句都與它緊密相連并圍繞它展開。擴展句就是解釋或者說明段落中心思想的句子。寫擴展句時要注意條理性,比如引出三條不同的理由可以分別用:Firstofall,furthermore,thelastbutnottheleast。
明確段落的寫作思路之后,讓我們具體來看句子的寫作?荚噷嵺`表明,多數(shù)考生在寫作上的主要欠缺不是系統(tǒng)的寫作理論和方法,而是最基本的單句寫作能力。有些同學因為對自身的實力缺乏自信所以考場上采取抄襲閱讀文章里的句子這種方法來湊字數(shù)。這種做法實不足取,因為一方面容易被改卷老師發(fā)現(xiàn)而認為該考生有偷懶的.嫌疑,另一方面考生從閱讀文章里抄來的優(yōu)美句子和考生自己寫的錯誤百出的句子拼湊在一起令文章整體有不和諧之感,從而令改卷老師懷疑該考生有作弊的嫌疑。通過句子寫作這一關,可參考如下步驟:
1.確保句子的正確性,即準確表達思想而且沒有語法錯誤。以"Therebe"句型為例,錯誤的句子:Therearemanypeopleliketogotothemovies.正確表達:Therearemanypeoplewholiketogotothemovies.考生最容易犯的錯誤是在therebe之后又用了一個動詞作謂語,使句子結構出現(xiàn)嚴重錯誤。除了要小心避免語法錯誤外,我們也不能忽視作文中經(jīng)常出現(xiàn)的嚴重漢化的英語,即中式英語,比如:"Manisiron,andfoodissteel.","Womenarehalfsidesky."。如何克服漢化思維關鍵在于動筆前先思考一下類似的英文句式,并且注意諺語的翻譯不能隨心所欲,盡量找到規(guī)范的翻譯方式。
2.注意句式的多樣性,語言生動且富于變換才能最終打動評卷老師從而獲得高分。不能從頭到尾都是Iam…,heis…,Ilike…,這樣的簡單句。
1)適當運用同位語,Environmentalpollution,aphenomenonwhichlastedanumberofyears,hasgrownmoreandmoreserious.推薦用于開頭對核心名詞做出解釋。
2)倒裝,Onlyinthiswaycanwesolvetheproblem.建議最好使用在文章結尾處更顯得擲地有聲。
3)無靈主語,即沒有生命的東西充當主語。當我們要講述一個經(jīng)驗性的事實或者常理時,不要過多使用“Ithinkthat”議論文中過多使用“I”容易影響文章的客觀性。使用無靈主語就可以解決這個問題Pastexperiencehastaughtusthatweshouldnotdependonothersforeverything.(Pastexperience就是無靈主語)
4)排比,可以增強語言表達的力度和整個文章的氣勢。例如在95年1月的考題“Canmoneybuyhappiness”中運用排比就可以收到比較理想的效果。Manypeopledieformoney,lieformoney,fightformoney,andevenselltheirsoulstotheDevilformoney.
以上是講述寫好句子的方法,但因為考場上時間比較緊迫,所以建議考生務必在考前背誦一些常用的理由句以防在考場上臨時思路受阻而束手無策。如Itcanenrichourknowledgeandwidenourhorizon.或者Itcanincreasethegovernmentrevenueandrelievethepressureofunemployment.等等。
僅僅學會寫議論文是不夠的,近兩年四級考試加大了應用文和記敘文的考查力度,這就要求考生在熟悉議論文的基礎之上加強應用文和記敘文的訓練。應用文主要考寫信,考生必須明確寫信的基本格式以及寫信的流程:

4. Nothing is morethan和Nothing is so as結構,Nothing is morethan和Nothing is so as都具有最高級比較的意思,Nothing I可換用no,nobody,nowhere,little,few,hardly,scarcely等等,可譯為沒有比更為,像再沒有了,最等。
Nothing is more precious than time.
5. cannottoo結構,cannottoo意為It is impossible to overdo或者,即無論怎樣也不算過分。not可換用hardly,scarcely等,too可換用enough,sufficient等。
You cannot be too careful.
6. 否定+but 結構,在否定詞后面的.but,具有which not,who not,that not,等等否定意義,構成前后的雙重否定?勺g成沒有不是或都等。

The 21st CENTURY speech contest was held on Friday afternoon in the lecture hall, Gaoxin
Campus. It was great. Each grade in our school had a speech contest. Eighteen candidates from Grade Six took part in it. The first three winners would go to the next grade.
All of the speakers prepared well for the speech. When the contest began, some of the speakers were very nervous as they were giving speech to the audience.
The thing that made me shocked was, when the speakers were giving a speech and the fellow students were so quiet that you could hear the speakers clearly. When our class speakers went up, our whole class was cheering, it was crazy. The speakers delivered their speeches very fluently that I couldn’t even do it so good.
I remember all of the speakers talked about their parents. They said all of the good things about their parents, but no one said their flaws. But I think everyone has already done a great job. They all did their best.
