　　My home town is a beautiful place. It stands beside a wide river and is rich in fish and rice.

　　But in the old days it was a poor and backward little town. Many people had no work. They lived a hard life.

　　In 1949 my hometown was liberated. Since then great changes have taken place there. The streets have been widened. Factories, schools, hospitals, cinemas and theatres have sprung up one after another. The life of the people is greatly improved.

　　一天，老媽心血來潮，非要我教她英語，說是學(xué)好了好教我弟弟趙玉。我是又高興又擔(dān)心。老媽這么有上進(jìn)心，我得好好教她。可媽媽這么大年紀(jì)了，能學(xué)會嗎？

　　我搬了張小凳子，讓媽媽坐下，又拿來弟弟的.“3A”英語課本，從26個字母教起。

　　“A、B、C、D”，我教一句，媽媽跟著讀一句，發(fā)音還蠻準(zhǔn)哩！我高興地說：“呀，老媽，學(xué)得挺快的！”媽媽笑了笑說：“你老媽什么人，沒有我的聰明，能有這么能干的女兒嗎？”我看看媽媽，一本正經(jīng)地說：“好、好，可別驕傲啊，這才開始呢！”

　　我鎮(zhèn)靜下來，對媽媽說：“媽，看我的嘴�！蔽曳畔聲�，把兩只手的中指伸進(jìn)嘴巴里，然后輕輕一拉，從嗓子里發(fā)出“哎——”的聲音。老媽真乖，也學(xué)著我的樣子，把嘴巴拉得老長，嗓子里竟然發(fā)出了“哎兒”的聲音。弟弟看著媽媽的嘴，大牙都差點(diǎn)笑掉。我一把摟住媽媽的脖子親了一口，說：“老媽，你真有才�！眿寢屢哺吲d起來�！啊骸�、‘哎兒’。”又連續(xù)念了好幾遍。“不就是把嘴巴扁著念嗎？小菜一碟！再來�！眿寢尣粺o驕傲地說。
